What a drama. I was at my mum's with Ilyas getting ready to pick Ilhan up from kindy when i got a call from Mdm Nura asking if I was on the way, and that Ilhas has his hand stuck at a door. i thought "Oh that is so Ilhan", tinggalkan Ilyas dengan datuk dia dan bergegas ke Iyad di blok sebelah.
I was greeted by these...

...and a crowd of people outside his classroom. "Whoa...a stuck finger can't be that bad!!" I rushed to the class and saw the firemen sweeping the glasses of the broken glass door. Aku baca punya baca as I peered into the room and I saw a teacher lying on the floor, Mdm Haj nursing a bleeding hand, and.....a medic bandaging Ilhan's hand.
So what happened was, this fella somehow got his hand stuck at the hinge side of the main glass door, and the Red Rhino was summoned after unseuccessful attempts to free it. By 15 min the hand was swollen, so it got stuck even more, and the teachers were trying to soothe and calm him down. The SCDF guys put a rug over Ilhan and tried to prise the door open when it fell and shattered over cocooned Ilhan and the poor un-covered teachers.
Injury count: Ilhan's bruised hand, cuts on Mdm Haj's hand and poor Miss Hanis was in shock for a while.
So the little fella and me got to ride in the ambulance to NUH Children's A&E where an x-ray ascertained no fracture. It was some muscle and soft tissue damage. He got to watch Ben10 on Youtube while the doctor examined him and got him in a sling, hand all tightly wrapped. He also got plenty of sayang-sayang, dukung all the time cos we forgot his sandals in school. And the rest of the week off.
I hope he's learnt his lesson - Jangan Main Pintu.

meanwhile, his mother harbours thoughts of becoming a nurse....(ok go on angah and icu, LAUGH at me...:P)

mak bdk tulis cerita mcm relak aje...tak panik pun awak eh? sempat lagi ambik gambar di semua tempat. Ku rasa ku kesiankan cikgu2 nye....panik semacam agaknye.

ReplyDeleteya, there was one helpful makcik who passed by block and took out an oily spray from her handbag and asked the teachers to try lubricate the hand..hahahah!

ReplyDeletezarina, this tangan tersepit thing is like a rite of passage every kid has to go through i guess. you just wouldn't want to see a red rhino come a calling :P

ReplyDeletemana tak panic...ingatkan tersepit biasa sekali nampak red rhino and ambulance and a huge crowd and a teacher terbaring (in shock sebab kena gelas pecah). last last baru nampak dia tangan berbalut...nak putus jugak jantung...

hahaha yes im very sure these images will be enough to serve as a reminder.and insya-allah, i am leaving in late july or early august. i havent confirmed the details yet coz planning for exchange is turning into 1 big headache.howells no pain no gain!heh heh.
