at my desk now and could see my desktop after arriving to an avalanche of papers and worksheets. i hate paperwork and could never file things neatly. my desk and files will only be nice and neat at the beginning of the year and then it descends into a state of creative mess. again, all this clutter has got to go. got lots of sieving thru to do when the school year ends now that i won't be teaching for some time soon.
alright. highlights of trip since my last update. some driving parts of the trip down south had some creepy moments, much akin to the horrors like The Hills Have Eyes where in the day you drive for hours on dusty roads surrounded by barren, almost desert-like landscapes. a bunch of mutants could stop us and eat us and no one would know. and who can forget that speedy-gonzales drive from Albany to Busselton at night thru small roads yang bersimpang-siur surrounded by giant trees. syukur alhamdullillah for the husband's steady driving skills.
along the way also passed thru small rural pockets of population (around 500) ; settlements with names like Nyamup and Gingin. how do these people live here, i wonder.
The Husband's apartment was still not ready so we drove up north to Cervantes and Jurien Bay. Cervantes is such a small small small faraway town. The Pinnacles were amazing as i remember it, and i spot the exact same spot me and Haryati took pix years back. Ilhan was amazed by the landscape and was hopping around like a joey on the moon.
at Jurien Bay took a rough hike to the cliff. met this German couple from Munchen who spoke little English and managed a basic conversation about - what else - the World Cup. tak sia-sia aku berhempas-pulas belajar German in secondary school.
On the way back stopped at Yanchep and the beach is so beautiful that we spent a night there. Bapak got what he wanted - accomodation by the beach. love the quaint lavender room. The Husband's toying with the idea of us renting an apartment there next year. it's got a national park, faces the Indian Ocean and about 45 minutes from Perth City.
erm. i don't know about that. it's just too far for me. i know we came here for a different experience and pace of life, but erm...i think i need to be eased into it slowly. easy does it. the drive there and back is along deserted roads and what if our kereta haprak buat hal tengah jalan?
speaking of kereta, tee hee hee :) :) :) :)
got bad news from home, so mak and bapak left for sg on saturday, leaving kami di sini. took it eazy and lazed around, and moved into Husband's and Fozzil's apartment. i perasan Stepford Wife and flitted here and there unpacking Husband's stuff and settling things into cupboards.
oh did i mention that i bumped into Cikgu Saripah AND The Cupcake Lady aka Ayu at Fremantle (albeit on different days). go figure.
had grilled lobsters at Fremantle. lobsters are overrated, don't you think? they taste just like fresh prawns and they cost a bomb.
The Day came and Husband sent us to the airport. Ilhan was all excited about 'airpane' and waved his Baba away. he was such an angel on the flight back; was too engrossed on looking for green M&Ms to bother about his ear (green being Colour of the Week). we were stuck on this aisle seat in the centre row which was so damn sempit and alhamdullillah Ilhan is such a good boy who tak merengek and buat hal. and i hate being invisible to the Qantas crew. i WILL try sq in spetember.
re-oriented myself with manual driving and am trying to psyche myself for school on monday.
oh well. i miss B already.
